On day one, you shall visit Lake Manyara National Park, a lush, forested escape with easy access to the African Big 5 animals including elephants stepping through fig trees and rare tree-climbing lions (only found in Lake Manyara and Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National parks). Then you head up into the cool highlands, where you’ll sleep above the clouds near the rim of an ancient volcanic crater.

Day 1 – Arusha to Lake Manyara, Afternoon Game Drive, Overnight in Karatu
To start your adventure, your expert guide picks you up from Arusha or Moshi early in the morning and with your eyes wide open—you’re ready to start your transfer to Lake Manyara National Park.
After hours of driving, you arrive at the parks gate. Lake Manyara National Park is a hidden gem and you being to witness this the very time you drive in, it shifts from thick jungle to marshland to open lake shore. You’ll spot baboons lounging in the sun, blue monkeys jumping between branches, and, if you’re lucky, those tree-climbing lions Manyara is famous for.
If you are a bird lover, Lake Manyara is even incredible for you because the lake shimmers with pink flamingos, pelicans, and a sky full of wings. You’ll take your time—pausing at lookout points, rolling down windows, letting the park do what it does best: surprise you.
By late afternoon, you drive up into the Ngorongoro Highlands, where the air cools and the roads twist through green farms. Your lodge in Karatu is peaceful, perched near the crater rim. You’ll dine with a view and sleep deep.

Day 2 – Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive, Return to Arusha
You wake early, eat breakfast while the mist still clings to the trees, and head toward one of the most famous wildlife spots in the world.
Early morning, drive to the Ngorongoro crater and descend into Ngorongoro Crater, here the drive feels like entering another planet. The volcanic walls stretch high above you, while the floor is alive with movement. Zebras. Wildebeest. Elephants. Buffalo. And if luck’s on your side—rhinos, lions, and cheetahs.
You’ll spend the morning on an extended game drive. Your guide knows the hidden corners—the quiet ponds, the lion tracks, the hippo hangouts. You’ll break for a picnic lunch near a pool of hippos, where the air smells of earth and adventure.
