Day 1 – Arusha/JRO to Serengeti: Touch Down in the Wild

By late morning, you’re airborne or on the road, heading toward the plains of legend.

If you fly, you’re soaring over the rift valley, with scattered clouds casting shadows over elephant trails. If you drive, you’re rolling through Maasai villages and volcanic landscapes that slowly peel back into golden savannah.

By afternoon, you arrive in the Serengeti ans as soon as you arrive, you are overtaken by the beauty, the size, the silence and the endless plains. You didn’t realize you’d been holding your breath until now.

You reach the crater rim in the early morning and your adventure begins. A massive, ancient caldera cradling a self-contained world below. Mist coils along the edge like breath. And you descend.

The game drive in the crater is almost unfair. Within minutes, you might see elephants trudging through the marsh, flamingos dancing across a soda lake, or even a black rhino grazing quietly in the distance.
